Competition to be held 3pm-7pm on Sunday, September 20, 2020
*Participants must be at least 21 years of age to enter.
*All competitors must supply their own pit/grill to competition site and have all needed items and/or equipment needed to set up and compete including but not limited to charcoal, lighter fluid, food containers, utensils, etc. and can begin set up as early as 11:30 am day of event.
*All participants will set up to vend like any other event and are responsible for their own sales. Loyal Tee's Custom Cakes,LLC , Events Touched by Loyal Tee, LLC, Unity Banquet Center are not responsible for competitors' sales.
*Participants must clean/prep food prior to arrival as kitchen usage will not available at venue. Participants will however have access to water for cooking & hand washing needs.
*All participants must be ready to start serving/selling by start of event at 3pm.
*Each participant must agree to provide a sample serving to each of the 3-5 professional guest judges of the event.
*Participants acknowledge they understand to be considered for the overall Dayton's Pit Boss Competition winner that they must have an item in at least two of the People's Choice Categories; Seafood, Ribs, Chicken, Beef (other than ribs), or Pork (other than ribs).
*All participants agree to clean their immediate surrounding area at end of event making sure to place all trash and trash bags inside trash bins located at back of venue building.
*All participants agree to demonstrate good sportsmanship throughout event.
*Participants gives Loyal Tee's Custom Cakes LLC and Unity Banquet Center the right to use their name in event publicity & advertising.
*Participants must obtain all required permits and licenses required by the State of Ohio and must pay all applicable city, county, state, and federal taxes.
*Participants will staff booth at all times the day of event.
*All participants must also sign the media release form, which can be found just below this registration form.
*First place winner will receive cash prize, 2020 Pit Boss Trophy, and bragging rights for a year! Second and third place winners also receive trophies.
Tickets to event will be sold for $5. Children 10 & under are free with paying adult. Children will need purchase score card if they want to vote. Admission will include access to vendors, access to bar, and one event's voting ballot/score card. All attendees must have ticket to access vendors and to cast their votes. Drinks will be available for purchase from the on site bar. Proper ID will be required. Each ticket holder can cast their ballots on which grill master they feel provided the best menu items for each sub-category for the people's choice winners. Votes will be tallied near end of event and winners of each sub-category will be announced. Categories for people's choice winners will include but are not limited to: Best Wings, Best Ribs, Best Pulled Pork/Pork, Best Seafood, Best Brisket/Beef, etc (categories subject to change depending on entries). There will be an official taste judging done by 3-5 professional guest judges to choose the overall Pit Boss winner. Overall winner will then be presented with 2020 Dayton's Pit Boss Trophy, and gain bragging rights as Dayton's 2020 Pit Boss!
Registration to enter competition is $65. This is a rain or shine event. Registration fee is non-refundable and must be submitted at time of registration.
